I had a life-saving experience with Dr. Chiu
In November 2005, I consulted with Dr. Chiu about getting a breast augmentation and lift. A few days after meeting with Dr. Chiu, I decided to go ahead with the procedure, but was advised I would need to do some blood work in order to get clearance to do the surgery.
The next day, I got a call from the nurse advising me to go and see my primary care physician immediately and that they could not go ahead with my surgery at the time, due to the result of my blood work.
I immediately booked an appointment with my primary care physician who took one look at the blood work report from Dr. Chiu and told me she couldn’t believe that I was feeling normal and still functioning . . . I had to go see a kidney specialist the next day. After a series of tests, I was informed that I had suffered “Acute Renal Failure” – both my kidneys had stopped working and I did not even know.
The specialist told me that if I had not come in when I did, I probably wouldn’t have survived for much longer and I probably wouldn’t have survived the breast augmentation surgery.
I believe that had I gone somewhere else, they might have still gone ahead with the surgery, so as not to lose that business. I can testify that the patients’ safety and wellness comes first with Dr. Chiu.
I have been treated for my kidney disease and two years later, I have full kidney function and am ready to go through with the surgery finally!
Thank you, Dr. Chiu.
